Tooth extraction

We try to save a tooth whenever that is possible. When a tooth is too broken, too loose or too infected to keep, removing it can be the right choice.

Wisdom teeth

Wisdom teeth are the last teeth at the back of the mouth. Some come through without trouble. Others stay stuck under the gum or bone and can cause pain, swelling or trapped food. The dentist examines the tooth first, sometimes with an X-ray, before advising whether it should come out.

After an extraction

The dentist gives you care instructions to follow. In general: bite on the gauze as you are told, avoid spitting and hot food for the rest of the day, and do not smoke. Some soreness for a few days is common. Call us if the bleeding does not stop, or if pain or swelling gets worse after the first few days.
