Tests for dengue, malaria and typhoid at our Sayan laboratory.
Available at our Sayan clinic only.
A fever that does not settle, especially in the monsoon, is often checked for dengue, malaria or typhoid. Which test helps depends on how many days the fever has lasted, so your doctor chooses.
- Dengue NS1 is most useful in the first days of fever. Dengue Duo also looks for antibodies.
- Malaria tests look for the parasite or its proteins in the blood.
- Typhoid tests look for the body’s response to the infection.
- A platelet count is often repeated during dengue.
Go to a hospital straight away if
- there is bleeding from the gums or nose, or blood in vomit or stool
- there is severe stomach pain, repeated vomiting or unusual drowsiness
- the person is breathless or very weak
Do not wait for a test report in these cases.

The laboratory at our Sayan clinic is open Monday to Saturday from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm, and on Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm. Call the lab to ask about a test, fasting or home sample collection. Reports are ready the same day.
