Home sample collection: how it works

Getting to a laboratory is not always easy: for an older person, someone unwell or recovering, or someone who needs the same test repeated. In those cases someone from our Sayan laboratory can come to you and take the sample at home.

How to ask for it

Call us or send a message on WhatsApp with:

• the test your doctor has asked for, or a photo of the prescription
• your address
• the day and time that suit you

We will confirm whether we can reach your area, when someone can come, and whether there is a charge for the visit. Please confirm these with us each time, because they depend on where you are.

What to have ready

• the prescription, if you have one
• the name the report should be issued in
• if the test needs fasting, follow the instructions we give when you book (see preparing for a blood test)

What happens to the sample

The sample is labelled in front of you, then taken to our laboratory at Sayan and tested there, in the same way as a sample taken at the clinic. Your report is shared with you when it is ready, and your results stay confidential.
